Creating a Photoshoot For Nichelle Jewellery

After creating and shooting the identity theft of a Pretty Little Liar, myself and Danielle were approached to work with Nichelle Jewellery, a local business based in Cardiff. We collaborated with it's owner Luke Richard to stage our own photo shoot to use on social media.

Early Tuesday morning hours were spent combing through loose curls and lining tired eyes, and we spent countless moments framing faces and adjusting lights. This was our second project as a team, but this time it wasn't just for us and we were also throwing another face into the mix.

Each girl was told to be themselves, and there was some apprehension. Pretending to be somebody else is easy, but letting people see who you really are is not.

Unspoken nerves were met with a cloudy morning of easy spontaneity, awkwardly amused glances and shivering hands on empty balconies. It was the easiest day of work we had done together. We combated the frustrations of short bursts of white sunshine and spits of heavy rain, while bags of clothes lay strewn across scuffed mahogany floors inside the warm brick walls of The Wharf. Dark curls were caught on berry lips, and ivory hands were forced into shades of blue from the January chill. The only sounds coming from that balcony were youthful laughter and lively cursing.

We loved creating these images, and I loved seeing the contrast between the two girls. They were two very different human beings, unified by chance. They were two strangers, until they weren't.
